Folks,
I am on my 6th year of H1B. My current H1 expires mid August 2009.
My PERM was filed in May 2008 and was approved in Dec 2008.
My I-140 is applied and pending. I work for an american consulting company.
Naturally, I dont have an EAD as yet.
Based on my PERM approval and 365 day rule, I know I can extend my current H1 for 1 year.
(planning to do this ASAP).
Here is my question:
- My current client contract will get terminated soon. If my current GC sponsoring company decides to terminate my employment (due to project non-availability), can i transfer my extended H1B to another employer?
In other words, is an extension H1 (7th year and beyond) similar to regular H1 (first 6 years) in regards to invoke the "transfer" rule between eligible employers? or is it tied to GC sponsoring employer?
- By doing so, do I abandon my GC application (i think i will, but general clarification) ?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated,

I got an H1 from an employer with changes of status from L1 effective 31- jan but I will be joining this company only on 4-april-2011. I continued to work for L1 employer till
20-Feb after which i returned to India.
Now i have my visa interview - will i face issues because of the 25 days i spend with L1 employer and that I dont have H1 employer pay stubs?

Have anybody feeling the big difference between Texas and Nebraska service center processing? Texas is giving greencards and June filers most of them have got EAD and Advanced Paroles. Is immigrationvoice doing anything to escalate the situation.

Yes. Your dependents can go for a H4 visa stamping provided you (primary h1 beneficiary) were always in status. (which from your post looks like you were)
You will have to send your paystubs, latest h1 approval notice etc - with your family for the
h4 visa interview.

I just missed 120-90 day window for filing EAD. My EAD expires on oct 12 and today is July 12TH.
Other stats:
Have H1B active with current employer till Feb 2009
Just got my priority date current - EB2 July 2004 for India
I-140 approved, I-485 and I-140 filed last year receipt date Sept 2007
Questions:
How can I get new EAd now?
I can continune working on H1B correct?
Any impact on my 485 application that now will process due to PD being current?
PLEASE HELP. I am confused and worried a bit.

A friend of mine was recently stuck in administrative processing from November till March 13th (he was informed about the approval on March 18th) a total timeframe of 5 months. He reached the US on March 22nd and was admitted on H1 without any issues.
He sent me the following facebook link which list at least 200 such cases of similar souls.
"Here is a link to Facebook group on visa delay the kind I had. There is a spreadsheet which lists a sample of 200 cases since Nov.

Please be aware of it."

Visitor's visa for my parents expired recently (it was a 5 yr VISA & they visited here 3 times and returned within 6 months each time) and they want to re-apply for a visa. My question is - Do I still need to send in the Document of Support, Employer and Bank letter or they can re-apply without these documents? On the safer side, I am sending the documents but in my view there should not be a need for the support documents...Anyone in similar boat?

HI,
I have an H1b approval notice but as it clear the duration of the visa validity starts in October, today being 27 june and three months away from start of visa duration can i travel to India next month ( july) and be back in August as i am still on OPT and working full time in America now. I have got an oppointment with a consulate in India. Once i have got a stamp on my passport will i be permitted to enter back immediately or only in october, i need to make decision to travel now or later as if i am allowed back immediately it will affect my work.

The early retirement of US Senator Mel Martinez (R-FL) has opened up an appointment opportunity for Governor Charlie Crist, himself a candidate for Martinez's seat. My wife received Appt. letter for FP second time. It mentioned that first time FP didn't pass thru FBI check, se she need to come again at no cost. Is this normal and did it happen to any one? We are in Atlanta.
